Those of you using the Monash Netscape/Oracle calendar system may have noticed a 1 hour lag with notifications. Here is the official notice from ITS regarding this issue:
"ITS Service Advisory Notice - Netscape Calendar - Sunday 5-Oct-2008
SERVICES AFFECTED: Netscape Calendar
WHEN: Sunday 5-Oct-2008 2:00 AM - Sunday 2-Nov-2008 2:00 AM
HOW: The Netscape Calendar client/server is not aware of the new start date for daylight savings. As a result:
- The clock that is shown within the client is one hour slow. - Alarms/notifications are activated one hour later than they should.
However, meetings are still shown as being at the correct time. This problem will not be resolved until the end of October.
WHY: From 2008 onwards, the daylight savings start and end times have been modified. Daylight savings now starts on the first weekend in October, rather than the last. The Netscape Calendar product is not aware of these changes. As Monash is not supported for this product, we are not able to update the server and fix the problem.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
