Dr John McArthur was a member of the Faculty of Education at Monash for many years and was a senior lecturer in educational administration until leaving in 1983 to join the secretariat of the Australian Education Council (AEC). He became the national Secretary of the AEC which later changed its name (and functions a bit) to become the Ministerial Council for Education, Employment, Training and Youth Affairs (MCEETYA).
John was a good friend to many of us including Andy Spaull who wrote the history of the Australian Education Council while John was with the secretariat.
John's funeral will be held on Monday, 24 November at 2.30pm in the Boyd Chapel at the Springvale Crematorium.
